This has been a great interactive tool during the procedure. I will ask the patient which color makes her feel the most comfortable. The patient will choose a color style which immediately gives you an idea of what she is looking for. Flip this ruler over and on the back side are the recipes for the specific Fitzpatrick color scales using the Waverly areola colors. This is a confidence builder for the patient and the technician.

Recipes for mixing Waverly Colors:

Fitz1:  1/2  medium pigment cup of Beige, add 1 drop Light Brown, 1 drop Pink, 1 drop Red, 5 drops Juice. Mix well. (Note: Juice dilutes your pigment. If you want a more saturated look, dilute less.  If you want a more transparent result, add more Juice !)  This will result in a soft light areola mid tone. You can add another drop of Pink or Red to this mix, depending on your client's skin tone. 

You can then mix your dark value color for shading the  nipple by using 1/2 small cup of Light Brown, 1 drop of red, and dilute with Juice until you create the shading color you are looking for.  

For highlighting the areas such as Montgomery Glands, use pure White not diluted. 

Fitz2:   1/2  medium pigment cup of Beige, add 2 drops Light Brown,  1 drop Red, 5 drops Juice. Mix well.  This will result in a slightly darker mid tone than the Fitz 1 mixture. You can add another drop of  Red to this mix, depending on your client's skin tone. 

You can then mix your dark value color for shading the  nipple by using 1/2 small cup of Light Brown, 1 drop of red, and dilute with Juice until you create the shading color you are looking for.

For highlighting the areas such as Montgomery Glands, use pure White not diluted.

For Fitz 5 and 6, continue with directions above for Fitz 4, and add more Medium Brown or Dark Brown, depending on your client's needs. You can also add another drop of Red or Pink to adjust the tone as needed.  

Note:  Remember to use Juice to dilute as needed. Waverly colors are highly concentrated, and to achieve a sheer effect, dilute with Juice.
